Europe Flight Score

Live

Fourteen questions, about four minutes. Name the European city you are flying into and we price that route against our own grid - what it normally costs, what counts as a deal, and the cheapest carrier into it - alongside your Europe Flight Score, the card to put flights on, and the points play you are probably missing.

Fare Deal Checker

Live

Enter a fare and the European city you found it to. We compare it against what we actually paid from 26 US airports — and, if you name your own airport, against that market rather than the national one, which on a thin route changes the answer entirely.

Common questions

Are the tools free to use?
Yes, all of them, with no charge and no paywall. The Points vs. Cash Calculator and the Fare Deal Checker ask for nothing. The Europe Flight Score asks for an email address at the end, and joining the Club is optional.
Where do the numbers in the tools come from?
From the same two fare grids every page on this site is computed from: the city grid, 1,037 round trips across 26 US gateways collected on one day, and the carrier grid, priced airline by airline for one travel week. Both are downloadable on the open data page, so any figure a tool shows can be checked against the row behind it.
How often is the data behind the tools refreshed?
The city grid monthly, re-collected in one sitting or not at all, so no tool ever compares fares gathered weeks apart. The carrier grid whenever it is re-collected. Each tool shows the observation date of the data it is using; a figure without a date is not something we publish.
Which tool should I start with?
If you have a fare in front of you, the Fare Deal Checker says whether it is good for your route. If you know the city but not the airport, the Europe Airport Picker prices a nearby city plus a train, the airports within the city, and who flies it cheapest from yours. If you know the route, the Route Fare Comparison shows every airline that sold it in one week, and the Alternate Airport Checker shows whether another US gateway is worth the drive. If you are weighing the front cabin, the Business Class Value Finder shows where it costs a reasonable multiple of the back. If you are deciding between cash and points, the calculator gives you the cents per point and a verdict. If you are starting from scratch, the Europe Flight Score prices your own route and tells you what to change first.
Will there be more tools?
Yes, in the order listed above, and each gets a page only when it works. Nothing here is labeled coming soon with a placeholder page, because a thin page indexed early is worse than no page. Club members get first use of each one.
