Common questions

Is a points strategy session worth $249?

It depends entirely on the size of the redemption. A business-class seat to Europe runs a $5,396 median on Star Alliance carriers in our fare data and $7,439 on oneworld. If the session moves one trip from economy to business, or finds an award you would not have found, the arithmetic is not close. If you have 30,000 points and a fixed date, it probably is not worth it, and we would rather say so up front.

Do you need access to my accounts?

No. Send a list of your cards and balances. We never ask for logins, passwords or account access, and no reputable award service should.

What if my points are in the wrong programs?

That is one of the more common findings and it is worth knowing before you transfer anything. Transfers are one-way and irreversible, so moving points speculatively converts a flexible currency into an inflexible one at no gain. Part of the session is deciding what NOT to move.

Can you guarantee award availability?

No, and be careful of anyone who does. Award space is controlled by the airline and changes daily. What a session can do is tell you which programs your balances reach, which routings tend to have space, and when to be looking — which is the difference between hunting well and hunting at random.
